Mary Elizabeth Waulk, 88, of Bainbridge, formerly of Cynthiana, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.
She was born Sept. 22, 1932 in Ross County, the daughter of the late Charles William and Treva May (Wysong) Wrights.
In 1950, Mary graduated from Bainbridge High School as the valedictorian, and she became a member of the Cynthiana Church of Christ in Christian Union, making her a 70-year member.
On Nov. 23 of the same year, she married Gabriel Harold Waulk, who passed away on Feb. 15, 2002.
Mary was a devoted mother, homemaker and cook. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and watching the birds.
Mary is survived by four children, Danny (Cindy) Waulk, Connie Adams, Becky (Bill) Benner and Loretta (Todd) Swinning; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Evans; brother, William Wrights; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Harry Shupert; and son-in-law, Jerrill Adams.
Private services will be held at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Rev. Jeff Adams officiating. A public graveside service will be held in the Cynthiana Cemetery Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at approximately noon.
