Mary E. Rudy, 97, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017 at Heartland of Hillsboro.
She was born July 30, 1919 in Troy, the daughter of the late Ward Motter and Carrie Stanley Motter.
Mary was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, the Highland County Farm Bureau and the Emmaus Community.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Darlene) Rudy of Pleasanton, Kan. and Samuel W. (Judy) Rudy of Hillsboro; daughter-in-law, Kathy Rudy of Enon; grandchildren, Bill (Kim) Rudy, Pam (David) McMeans, David (Jennifer) Rudy, Angie (Paul) Savard, Missy (Rod) Koch, Shane (Amanda) Rudy, Aubry (Megan) Rudy, Matt Rudy, Howard (Kristy) Rudy, Joshua (Adrian) Rudy, Kris (Kim) Starr, Kim (Ron) Pelsor and Kirk (Anne) Starr; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Jonathan, Lissa, Cody, Sean, Bryant, Caden, Brandon, Jarod, Joshua, Lilly, Ryan, Emmalee, Caraline, Skyler, Jace, Dayden, Cole, Zachary, Ashley, Spencer, Rachel, Noah, Joseph, Abbie, Jayden, Jackson, Kristi, Kyle, Libby, Evan, Kenney and Marcus; and great-great grandchildren Amber, Maverick and Decklen.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Leroy Rudy; a son, Jerry Rudy; two brothers, Paul Motter and Clarence Motter; and a sister, Martha Clawson.
Services will be held at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, 133 East Walnut Street, Hillsboro on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 6 p.m. with Rev. Derek Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Ohio on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11 a.m.
Friends will be received at the church on Thursday, May 25 from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m.
Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family.
The family requests contributions in Mary's memory be made to the Capital Improvements Fund at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church.
