Mary Ann Pitzer, 89, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at the Hospice of Hope Inpatient Center in Seaman.
She was born Dec. 6, 1927 in Samantha, the daughter of Ralph W. and Pearl Rowe Woolard.
Mary Ann had provided child care in her home for many children over the years. She was a past member of the Hillsboro Emblem Club.
She is survived by three children, Patricia Young, Terry (Peggy) Pitzer and Rick Pitzer, all of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Tim (Tina) Young, Chris (Denise) Young, Allison (Lance) Smaltz, Tara Withers and Gabrielle and Samantha Pitzer; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Edda) Woolard of Hillsboro; one half-sister, Georgianna Saunders of Miamisburg; and two sisters-in-law, Mary F. Pitzer of Hillsboro and Lee Ann Wise of Rainsboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Pitzer, on Sept. 20, 2002; one brother, William “Bill” Woolard; one sister, Betty Jane Tommasino; and two half brothers, Charles and Earl “Butch” Wise.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Leo Kuhn will officiate. There will be no visitation.
