Marvin Thomas Moran, 89, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Kingston, W.Va., the son of the late Thomas Haston and Elsie Ora Booth Moran.
Mr. Moran had worked for General Motors Corporation for 38 1/2 years. He was a member of the Lynchburg Masonic Lodge 178 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati and had served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
He is survived by a special niece, Theresa Elam of Lynchburg; several additional nieces and nephews; one great-niece, Cassie (Tommy Marcelina) Kessinger of Hillsboro; two great-nephews, Jai (Renee) Kessinger of New Vienna and Jeb (Abby) Kessinger of Ft. Thomas, Ky.; one brother, James Moran of Dayton; one sister-in-law, Veda M. (Gene Carns) Elam of Lynchburg; and one brother-in-law, James Cochran of Wilmington.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie E. Moran, on March 15, 2007; three brothers, Leonard, Meb and Silas Moran; and one sister, Eva Lester.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Allensburg Church of Christ. Bob Stevens will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Allensburg Church of Christ.
