Marlena Burton Goodpaster
Marlena Burton Goodpaster, 85, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Highland District Hospital.
She was born Jan. 3, 1941 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Frank Albertson and Mary Ann (Carr) Arnold.
She was united in to marriage to her first husband, Lawrence Burton, on Oct. 16, 1960, and he passed away on Oct. 8, 2000. On Dec. 1, 2001, she was united in marriage to Danny Goodpaster.

Marlena was a member of Mowrystown Church of Christ and one of the founding members of the Mowrystown Life Squad. She enjoyed reading, gardening and watching birds. She was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband, Danny Goodpaster; four children, Dean (Vicki) Burton of Mowrystown, Bryan Burton of Wilmington, B.J. (Greg) Stacey of Mt. Orab, and Karen (Kenny) Inlow of Sardinia; stepdaughter, Dawn Ritchie of Greensburg, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marlena was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Burton; infant son, Adam Burton; and three siblings: Ray Arnold, Frankie Arnold and Pat Kneuven.
Services will be held at Edgington Funeral Home, 17 E. Main St., Mowrystown, Monday, July 6 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Chris Gobin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mowrystown Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
