Marjorie Roush, 98, of Sardinia, passed away on Monday, May 10 at Crestwood Ridge Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hillsboro.
She was born in Adams County on May 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Milton and Sarah (Parr) Fox.
In her teens, she moved with her parents to the Hollowtown area and graduated from Buford High School. Marge then fell in love with her neighbor, Clyde Roush. They were married on July 31, 1940 and built their life together operating the adjacent farms where they met. Clyde and Marjorie were married 62 years before he passed away on Aug. 3, 2002.
She is also proceeded in death by her sisters, Carlean Smith and Francis Boggess; and brother, Ervin Fox.
Marjorie was a homemaker and tended to the family farm alongside Clyde. She also worked at Acro for a few years. Marge was a proud member of the Hollowtown Church, where she taught Sunday school classes for several years. She was amazing in the kitchen and loved making delicious meals for her family to sit down and enjoy together.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Kay (Jack) Fender of Lynchburg; grandson, Gary (Connie) Fender of Lynchburg; granddaughter, Pam (Dave) Bushelman of Hillsboro; and great-granddaughter, Tonya Fender of Sardinia. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, Thursday, May 13 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Leo Kuhn officiating. Interment will follow in the Buford Cemetery, Buford. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from noon-2 p.m.
