Marion Russell Baxla II
Marion Russell Baxla II, 71, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024 at Copper Knoll Health & Rehabilitation of Washington C.H.
He was born May 19, 1953 in Greenfield, the son of Marion Russell and Mary (Williams) Baxla.
He was a 1971 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and played the trumpet in the Ralph May Band. He was a member of the Buckskin Community Church, VFW Post 4736 and Greenfield Fishing Club.
He retired from Baxla Oil after the sale of the business.
He is survived by one daughter, Monica (Bradley) George of Greenfield; one son, Marion (Tyla) Baxla of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Meloney George, Garett George, Becka Baxla, Jessa Baxla and Keara Baxla; and several stepchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Baxla, on Sept. 8, 2019; one son, James Miles Baxla; two sisters, Cindy Lininger and Sandra Baxla Trasser; and both parents.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Mark Current officiating. Burial will follow at the South Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
