Marion Lewis

Marion Lewis, 89, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood, Ky., surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 14, 1926 in Viper, Ky., the son of the late William and Anna (Bowling) Lewis.
Marion worked as a tool-and-die maker for 39 years at General Electric, served as a deacon at the Hillsboro Free Will Baptist Church, was a member of the Highland County Coon Hunters Association and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Bowman) Lewis, whom he married on June 25, 1948 in Whitesburg, Ky.; two daughters, Janice Taylor of Westerville and Marilyn (Tom) Pennington of Hillsboro; two sons, Allen (Pam) Lewis of Hillsboro and Gary (Tracy) Lewis of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Brandi (Patrick Harris) Pennington, Megan (Jeff Norris) Pennington, Ryan (Shauna) Taylor, Matthew (Toni) Lewis, Shana (Dylan) Kramer and Taylor Lewis; six great-grandchildren, Virginia Harris, Reese, Dominic, and Declan Taylor, Elijah Lewis and Ellie Kramer; and one brother, Marcus Lewis of Hillsboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Hillsboro Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Richard Burns will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
