Marilyn E. (Riley) Vogelgesang

Marilyn E. (Riley) Vogelgesang, 88, of Greenfield, Ohio, Worthington, Ohio and Mount Dora, Fla., passed away Aug. 2, 2024 in Charlottesville, Va. of natural causes.

Marilyn was born in Columbus in 1936 to Samuel E. Riley and Elizabeth F. (Bakenhaster) Riley and grew up on farms in Highland and Fayette counties.

She graduated in 1954 from McClain High School in Greenfield before going to work for Ohio Bell in Columbus, where she met her husband of 62 years, Larry P. Vogelgesang (who died in 2020). Larry and Marilyn moved to Lake County, Fla. in 1979, where Marilyn worked for several decades as an administrator at Lake Technical College in Eustis.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Vogelgesang; her daughter, Barbara Vicente; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara A. Walter; and her brother, William E. Riley.

A graveside memorial service will be held Nov. 29, 2024 at the Greenfield, Ohio Cemetery at 2 p.m.
