Margie “Irene” Addington-Roush, 92, of Danville, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021.
She was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Dunham, Ky., the daughter of the late Jeff and Cora (Wright) Addington.
The family moved to New Market in November 1946. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ and worked at the Hercules Trouser Company, where she spent 23 years. She also worked at Henry's Shoe Store in Hillsboro for another 17 years.
She enjoyed cooking, camping, antique tractor shows and journaling and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Irene is survived by her brother, Robert Addington of Hillsboro; her sister, Catherine (Addington) Parks of New Market; several great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max E. Roush, in January 2020. They were married on April 23, 1953 in the Danville Church of Christ.
She also was preceded in death by three siblings, Dewey Addington, Hazel (Addington) Laycock and Lowell Addington.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Danville Church of Christ. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 at the church. Burial will follow services on Nov. 9 in the Hamer Township Cemetery.
