Margaret E. McCoy

Margaret E. McCoy, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 at the Highland District Hospital.

She was born Feb. 12, 1943 in Manchester, the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Morgan) Gilkison.

Margaret was a hard worker. She took pride in her home, always changing the décor so it always looked nice, and she made sure to instill her hard work values in her children. She enjoyed crocheting, but her true passion was cooking and baking. She loved her family, and she will be greatly missed.

Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Joe) Shoemaker of Hillsboro and Teresa Rigdon of Manchester; three grandchildren, Darin (Kay) Shoemaker of Pataskala, Gary Wayne (Heather Delute) Rigdon of West Union and Chasity Lynn (Andy Larason) Rigdon of Manchester; two great-grandchildren, Brody Larason and Alex Shoemaker; a sister, Dottie Foster of West Milton; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Keith Ryan, on Dec. 26, 2018, and her son, Edward Ryan on Dec. 4, 2016.

Celebration of her life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
