Louis J. Bower, 94, of Hillsboro, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 25, 2016 at the Laurels of Hillsboro. 
 
He was born Aug. 16, 1921 in Pana, Ill., the son of the late Carl and Teresa Endris Bower.
 
Louis was a former WWII Army veteran and had been a V.I.P. at Cowan Lake State Park Campground for several years.
 
Surviving are five children, Allen Patrick Bower, Steven Louis Bower, Kathleen Bower, Annie Watts and Kevin William Bower; sister, Eleanor (Bill) Sullivan; and his companion, Joann R. Trueblood.
 
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Bower; son, Bradley Bower; brother, Byron John Bower; and four sisters, Ida Rose McGinley, Frances Munsun, Helen Marie Warnsing and Annabelle Margaret Munsun.
 
Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St., Hillsboro, Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Michael Paraniuk officiating. Interment will follow in the Roades Cemetery.
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
