Loretta Carol (Hatfield) Pence, 71, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019 at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 25, 1947 in Ross County, the daughter of the Walter Ray and Doris Lucille (Kinnison) Hatfield.
Carol was a wonderful, loving and gentle soul who will be missed very much.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Tina Sue Pence; son, Robert Leigh Pence, Jr.; four grandchildren, Chad Stanforth, Tiffani Stanforth and Cheyenne Gilbert, all of Ohio, and Kayla Pence of Texas; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda (Bruce Nance) Carter, Sherry (Dan) Richmond and Darla Price, all of Ohio, and brother Roger (Dar) Hatfield of Montana; and very special friends, Bill Johnson, Gloria Grimsley and Scott Knisley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leigh Pence, Sr.; and a little brother, Walter Martin Hatfield.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Adena Cancer Center and Adena Hospice.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. The Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington is serving the family.
