Leonard George Ostermeier

Leonard George Ostermeier, 89, passed away at Hospice in Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 6.
Mr. Ostermeier, son of William and Wilhelmina Stack Ostermeier, was born in Springfield, Ill. and spent much of his life in Midland and Blanchester.
He graduated from Jefferson High School and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany in the aftermath of World War II. He married Jay Fender on Jan. 13, 1951. They owned Miralake Hampshire Farm in Midland. He was Secretary of the Ohio Pork Producers' Council, and he served as the U.S. Rural Mail Carrier for the Midland-Westboro area for many years. In 1972, the Ostermeiers moved to Blanchester and were brokers at their branch office of Wendell Fender Real Estate. They were active in supporting Blanchester athletics and other community events.
Married to Jay Fender Ostermeier for 64 years, he is survived by Melanie Staley; Jayme Staley; Jill, Chloe and Eric Hanson; Maralee Pope; Julianne and Tom Moser; Mindy and Brad Barber; Sean Moser; Lauren Moser; Raylee Hill; Christy, John, Christopher and Hailee Cox; William Jr. and Ruby Ostermeier; David and Eileen Ostermeier; Charles Ostermeier; and many other beloved family and friends.
A graveside service for the immediate family will be held at their convenience at Rest Haven in Blue Ash.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by Blanchester High School Athletic Program.
