Larry Garrison, 80, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.
He was born June 23, 1941, in Lattaville, the son of Charles Alonzo and Ruby Clay (Prather) Garrison.
Larry was a 1959 graduate of Buckskin High School. After graduating on a Friday, he began work on the following Monday at Hixson Oil Bulk Plant and later went to work at Kenworth Truck Company, from where he retired in 2000 after 24 years of employment. He then continued his HVAC work throughout the area.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington.
He was survived by his wife, Sandra Kay (Rice) Garrison at the time of his death, whom he married on May 4, 1962; but now she has passed on and is now with him; two daughters, Deidra (Roger) Rohde of Greenfield and Leta Garrison (Lance) of Greenfield; two sons, Tony Garrison of Greenfield and Tyler Garrison of Sinking Spring; six grandchildren, Seth Garrison (Christie), Breah (Kevin) Mitchell, Corey Miller (Sam), Mackenzie Garrison, Reid Garrison and Lacie Buckner; five great-grandchildren, Allara (Josh), Cade, Isaac, Cheree and Alayna; two great great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Sandy) Garrison of Greenfield, one sister in-law, Phyllis Garrison of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Keithie McDaniels.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers, Raymond, Cecil, Tommy, Harold, Kenny, Owen “Pap,” Billy, Donny, Glen and Wendell Garrison; five sisters, Vivian “Buzz” Garrison, Eula Hyer, Mabel George, Carolyn “Effie” Fout and Janet Manley; several nieces and nephews; one aunt, Virginia Prather; and both parents.
Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Josh Dixon officiating, followed by cremation.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
