Larry G. Huffman, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 at his residence.

He was born June 17, 1940 in Brushcreek Township, Highland County, the son of the late Virgil “Bud” and Dora (Wilson) Huffman.

Larry was a 1958 graduate of Sinking Spring High School and received his B.S. from Marietta College and his MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. Larry retired from American Greetings in Cleveland. 

Larry attended the Hillsboro Nazarene Church and had memberships in the Highland County Genealogy Society, Highland County Historical Society, Highland County Senior Citizens, Highland County Republican Club and the NRA. 

Larry was voted the number-one basketball player in Highland County in 1958. He was an avid sports junkie, loving all his Cleveland teams.

He is survived by one son, Craig (Patricia) Huffman of Fairview Park; one daughter, Becky (Raghdan) Al-Fawakhiri of Wisconsin; one stepdaughter, Crystal (Jondan) Smith of Pickerington; five grandchildren, James (Christine), Abbey, Steven, Naser and Katelyn; four brothers, Roger (Arlene) Huffman of Hillsboro, Dean (Sharon) Huffman of Hillsboro, Gary Thomas (Geralene) Huffman of Wilmington and Tim (Sharon) Huffman of Columbus; four sisters, Janet Tensing of Hillsboro, Donna (Bob) Tira of Hillsboro, Linda Howard of Hillsboro and Treasha (Ken) Armstrong of West Chester; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Maryjane (Colson) Huffman. 

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at the Hillsboro Nazarene Church, 8230 U.S. 50 East, Hillsboro, under the direction of the Thompson Funeral Home. Rev. Curtis Randolph and Rev. Murray Bay will officiate. Burial will be held 11 a.m. Sunday at the Park Cemetery in Garrettsville. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at the Hillsboro Nazarene Church.
