Lanny Ray Bryant, 70, of Blanchester, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022 at home.
He was born March 22, 1952 in Greenfield, the son of Harry and Norma (Stroup) Bryant.
He was employed as a customer service representative at Cummings Printing of New Hampshire and previously of Watkins Printing of Columbus, and he was also employed for many years at Greenfield Printing. He served Greenfield for 25-plus years in public service, including four years as mayor.
Lanny loved music and had a passion for singing. His music family was special to him, and he performed in many different groups, including the Singing Disciples and Dumbfounded.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bryant, whom he married June 6, 2020; five children, Kelli (Joe) Rhonemus of Xenia, Matthew (Katelyne) Bryant of Greenfield, James (April) Harrington of Clarksville, Doug (Jessica) Harrington of Lebanon and Jami (Scott) Inskeep of Wilmington; 14 grandchildren, including Alexander “AJ” and Rylan; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Harriett (John) Webb of Greenfield and Janet (Tom) Rhoads of Leesburg; one brother, Jack (Cindra) Bryant of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Bryant, on Feb. 28, 2020; and both parents.
Funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church in Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 4 from 3-7 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greenfield Area Christian Center, New Directions or The Exchange in Blanchester.
