Kirk Douglas "Doug" Ballard, 61, of Belfast, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones after a battle with cancer.

He was born May 20, 1960 in Dayton.

Doug was a graduate of the Whiteoak High School class of 1979. He was a United States Army veteran.

Doug had worked as a bricklayer. He loved sports and the Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed fishing and just being with family.

Surviving are his loving companion of 16 years, Bonnie King; a daughter, Kirklynn Ballard of Greenfield; a son, Jared Ballard of Peebles; a granddaughter, Allison Rohrer; four brothers, Mark Brabson of Belfast, Randy Ballard of Colorado, Clarence Brabson III of Indiana and Jerry Ballard of Dayton; and three sisters, Patty Ballard of Florida, Tammy Wehrs of Greenfield and Tonya Wimer of Belfast.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Charlotte (Hunley) Brabson of Belfast.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 30 from 3-7 p.m. at his sister Tammy's home at 11945 Hudson Road, Greenfield. The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home is serving the family.

Memorial contributions in Doug's memory may be made to the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
