Kenneth “Peewee” Gordon Fulkerson, 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021 at Highland District Hospital.
He was born Feb. 1, 1934, in New Martinsburg, the son of the late Cecil Fulkerson and Bernice (Rowe) Workman.
Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161.
He is survived by two daughters, Bernice Ricalday of Houston, Texas and Rhonda Kay McAfee of Winchester; five grandchildren; three siblings, Richard Fulkerson of Harriett, Gary (Betty) Fulkerson of Hillsboro and Patty Rand of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Glennafaye Williams; four siblings, Charles (Betty) Fulkerson, Eleanor Fenner, Fred Fulkerson and Stanley “Bobo” Fulkerson; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Fulkerson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the funeral home. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow services in the Dunn’s Chapel Cemetery.
