Kay F. Gray, 84, of Hillsboro, formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021 at the Crestwood Skilled Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 6, 1937 in Olive Hill, Ky., the daughter of the late Allen and Miriam (Ely) Owens.

Kay was a member of the South Liberty Church of Christ in Hillsboro. She devoted her life to the Lynchburg Life Squad, working for 25 years as part of their EMS team. She also helped with many events throughout Lynchburg. She was a 4-H adviser and worked at the Highland County Extension Office, as well as the Highland County Community Action Organization. Kay loved spending time with her three sons and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Kay is survived by three sons, Marvin Timothy (Tiffanie) Gray of Riverton, Wyo., Lawrence Allen “Larry” (Nancy) Gray of Hillsboro and Daniel Owen (Toni) Gray of Hillsboro; 15 grandchildren, Tamber (Devon) Gray Vanover, Tanneth (Roxanne) Gray, Tazer Gray, Tyrnan (Emily) Gray, Teleria (Brayden) Gray Rains, Libbey Gray, Joey Gray, Tony (Mindi) Ferrell, Samson (Kristina) Ferrell, Leelynd Stone, Casey (Elizabeth Pasqualini) Keim, Josh (Michelle) Keim, Aaron (Jessica Minor) Gray, Justin Gray and Heaven (Taylor) Thiel Covington; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; a brother, Herb (Mary) Owens of Alamogordo, N.M.; a sister, Sarah Owens Watson of Dayton; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Gray, on June 22, 2008; and three siblings, Hiram Owens, Juanita Tomes Owens and Ithel Brown.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. following visitation Wednesday, Nov. 24 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home. Burial will follow services in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay’s name to the Highland County Board of DD, 8919 U.S. 50, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
