Kathleen Burden

Kathleen Burden, 68, passed away Dec. 11, 2024.

She was born Jan. 4, 1956 in Cincinnati, the daughter of Braxton and Patricia (Boyden) Smith.

A loving mother, devoted nurse and cherished friend, Kathleen dedicated her life to the nursing profession, serving compassionately for an impressive 34 years. Her unwavering commitment to caring for others extended beyond her career and into the hearts of her beloved family. She relished every moment spent with her grandchildren, showering them with love and wisdom. Kathleen's legacy will continue through her family, who will remember her as a beacon of love and strength.

Kathy's journey was marked by an enduring passion for nurturing others, and her spirit will be celebrated by all who knew her.

Kathy was a proud mother to three wonderful children, Christopher (Dawn) Woodall of Sardinia, James (Amy) Woodall of Burford and Angela “Angie” (Tim) Hamm of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren, Derek (Ashley) Woodall, Sarrah (Tyler) Church, Alex (Drea) Woodall, Luke (Kylee) Woodall, Jessica (Preston) Polley, Amber Woodall, Savannah Woodall, Shayla Woodall, Alyssa Woodall, Dessiray (Brandon) Anderson, Ashlee Hamm and Olivia Hamm; 23 great-grandchildren; and brother, Mark (Cindy) Smith.

Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce “Wayne” Burden; and brother, Jeff Smith.

Funeral services will be held in her honor Monday, Dec. 16, 2024 at 5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, bringing together family and friends to reflect on the joy she brought into their lives. Friends may call Monday from 2 p.m. until time of services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
