Katherine M. Clawson, 88, of Somerset, Ohio, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 at Court House Manor in Washington C.H.
She was born on June 28, 1931 in Highland County, the daughter of Clarence Young and Reba (Lyle) Young.
She was a member of the Greenfield Church of Christ, a 1949 graduate of E.L. McClain High School, and at the age of 75, she graduated from Capital University in 2006 with a bachelor of arts in criminology. She graduated from American Intercontinental University in 2011 with a bachelor of science in criminal investigation. She was formerly a real estate title agent in Columbus.
She is survived by one son, David (Debbie) Clawson of Washington C.H.; three daughters, Karen (John) Eckelberry of Buckeye Lake, Theresa (Danny) Moore of Thornville and Judy Storts of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike (Beverly) Young of Lancaster; three sisters, Carolyn (Tom) Hamilton of Houston, TX, Grace Dhume of Greenfield and Flora Mae Layman of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Knisley; one grandson, Steven Clawson; one daughter-in-law, Denise Clawson; one brother-in-law, Earl Dhume; and parents and stepparents, Clarence and Chloe Young and Reba and Edwin Kleder.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.
