June Faye McPherson (née DeFeet) passed away after a long battle with cancer May 29, 2018 in Bradenton, Fla. while surrounded by her family.

She was born June 6, 1951 in Cincinnati to the late Robert Lee and Lucy Marie DeFeet (nee Stargel).

June attended Eastern Regional High School in Russellville. On June 6, 1970, her birthday, June married the love of her life, Roger Dale McPherson. They had two children, Valarie and Elliott. In 1980, June and Roger moved their young family to South Jersey, when Roger was transferred for work. June then spent the next 36 years in the employ of Philadelphia’s largest law firm, ultimately retiring in 2016 and relocating with Roger to Florida.

June was always full of energy, happy to help her family, friends and coworkers and an artistic “do-it-yourselfer.” Throughout her life, June was a hard worker. She was eager to help the attorneys in the law firm, taking on new projects and often volunteering to work overtime. At home, she spent weekends and vacations on home repairs, decorating and gardening. She would find someone else’s “trash” and convert it to “treasure.” While her children were young, June was the quintessential “soccer mom,” volunteering at tournaments and cheering from the sidelines rain or shine. During the 2000s, June became an avid collector of Christmas decorations and participated in the Beverly Historic Society’s Holiday House Tour. She served as chairperson of the Historic Society House Tour and helped lead other events as an active participant in her community.

June loved spending time with her family and entertaining and hosting holidays. She was proud of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments, never shy to share updates with anyone who would listen.

June was one of five sisters, including Carol Ely (deceased), Judy DeFeet (deceased), Jane Jackson (Cincinnati) and Joyce Ballou (deceased).

June is survived by her husband, Roger McPherson; her daughter, Valarie McPherson (Jason) Orlando of Hardyston, N.J.; her son, Elliott Wade (Natalie) McPherson of Aston, Pa.; her five grandchildren, Alessio Orlando, Marco Orlando, Rocco Orlando, Sadey McPherson and Quentin McPherson; and her sister, Jane Jackson.

A celebration of her life was held June 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Weber Funeral Home, 112 Broad Street, Riverton, N.J. 08077.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla. or Tidewell Hospice Services in Sarasota, Fla.

Condolences and remembrances can be shared with her family at www.weberfuneralhomeinc.com.
