Juel Phillips Fling, 92, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016.

She was born Oct. 24, 1924 in Seaman, the daughter of Mabel Victoria (Dotson) and George Phillips.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Worthy Matron, and the Order of the Eastern Star Hillsboro #441. She was a past member of the Folsom United Methodist Church and a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ. She loved flowers, genealogy, antiquing and gardening, but her greatest passion was her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be terribly missed by her family.

Juel is survived by her son, William Fling, daughter Emily Fling Evans and her husband Jim Evans and son-in-law Loy Lutton; brother Raymond Phillips and his wife Martha Phillips; grandchildren, Matthew Fling, Andrew Evans and wife Allison, Nathan Evans and his wife Anne, Anne Evans, Phillip Lutton and his wife Mia and Lauren Freeman and husband Vernon; great-grandchildren Mitchell Evans, Daniel Evans, Morgan Evans, Elise Evans, Julia Evans and Audrey Evans, Will Lutton, Reese Lutton, Spencer Freeman, Conner Freeman and Ahna Freeman.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Fling, whom she married on July 30, 1943; her three brothers, Chester Phillips, Arthur Phillips and Dale Phillips; one sister, Joyce Ward; and two daughters, Frances Fling Okada and Marcie Fling Lutton.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home with a burial to follow at the Hillsboro Cemetery.
