Judy Hodson Orebaugh, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 16, 2017 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.

She was born April 15, 1939 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Robert E. Hodson and Margaret M. (Hodson) Harper.

She was a retired bookkeeper and sometimes worked two or three jobs simultaneously to support her family. Judy was an extremely devoted member of the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. She had served as church secretary for many, many years.

All who knew her know of her caring and generosity to others. She was a true animal lover. Any dog or cat lucky enough to come to her was always fed and loved. She had a listening ear and open heart to everyone. So much was solved with Judy over glasses of her sweet tea.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura “Gizzi” Orebaugh of Hillsboro; two “special” children, Lori (Greg) Moon and Denny (Susan) Eubanks, both of Hillsboro; she was “Nana” to Chad, Dax, Tai, Kara, Kala, Jason, Derek, Bret, Jessica and Ashley; 18 great-grandchildren; her dear friend, Verlene “Verti” Heston;  three sisters, Terre Passeau, Sue Orman and MaryBeth Pearson; an aunt, Stella Glasscock of Sardinia; four cousins, Jackie (deceased), John, Tom and Leanna; and her furry companions, Maci and three special kitties. She also leaves her extended church family; everyone was so important to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Virginia Hodson.

Judy’s funeral service will take place at noon on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Leesburg. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon on Saturday at the church.

The Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro is serving the family.
