Judith “Judy” Kay Johnson, 79, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at the Eagle Creek Nursing Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1942, in Dayton, the daughter of the late Robert Wesley and Florence Lucille (Chambers) Walker.
Judy had retired from the Hillsboro City Schools after 20 years of service. Judy had graduated and received her “wings” as a flight attendant. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a 1961 graduate of Whiteoak High School and was a member of the Hillsboro Elks Ladies Golf Association. She enjoyed golfing and was proud to have had two holes-in-one at the Elks golf course. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Judy is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years, Larry Johnson, whom she married May 31, 1968 in Hillsboro; two sons, Jason Johnson of Charlotte, N.C. and Jeremy Johnson of Hillsboro; one granddaughter, Sydnee (Drennan) Bragg; a sister, Rhonda Manuel of Hillsboro; a brother, Michael Walker of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rheta (Jerry) Lowe; a nephew, Scott Lowe; and a brother-in-law, Dave Manuel.
In keeping with her wishes, Judy will be cremated. Celebration of her life will take place at a later time at the convenience of the family.
