Joyce Colleen Rapp, 71, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
She was born Oct. 4, 1949 in Williamson, W.Va., the daughter of the late Otis Edward and Geneva Wallace Morris.
Joyce had worked at Ahrestry and Randall Corporation. She loved to read and crochet.
Surviving are her daughter, Andrea (Richie) Bell of Lynchburg; son, James (Lisa) Carpenter of Vandalia; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Don) Nichols of Lynchburg; a son-in-law, Craig Hall of Wilmington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by three daughters, Jerri Lynn Carpenter, Sonja M. Rapp and Linna Hall; a son, Reather Carpenter; two sisters, Linda Nord and Eva Eakins; and a brother, Robert Brewer.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington, Thursday, March 18 at 6 p.m. Interment will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery at a later date. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-6 p.m.
