Joshua Shane Hammond, 41, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

He was born Sept. 30, 1983 in Georgetown, the son of Charles Hammond and Lisa Turner.

He was a 2002 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and was employed at Corvac of Greenfield. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and searching for artifacts.

He is survived by two daughters, Piper and Emberly Hammond; father and stepmother, Charlie and Jill Hammond of Leesburg; mother and stepfather, Lisa and Joe Spearman of Howard; grandmother and step-grandfather, Betty and David Wise of Hillsboro; one brother, Jeremy (Kadee) Hammond of Greenfield; one sister, Wendy (Adam) Coonrod of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

In Joshua’s death, he was able to provide life to others through his organ donation.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Jeff Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Chapel Cemetery near Elmville.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
