Joseph A. Patterson, 33, of Waverly, passed away, Sunday, June 24, 2018 as the result of an accident in the line of duty.
He was born Nov. 18, 1984 in Ross County to Michael A. and Holly M. Zeisler Patterson. On May 16, 2015, he married the former Jennifer M. Young, who survives.
Joseph was a firefighter and EMT for Paint Creek Fire Department, Huntington Township, Green Township and various other fire departments.
Joe was a true public servant and died doing what he loved. His smile and personality will be truly missed by all who had the honor to know him.
In addition to his parents of Londonderry and wife, he is survived by his children, Ashleigh Halfhill, Rebeccah Halfhill and Adam Liste, all at home; a sister, Julie M. Patterson and fiancé, Ryan Murphy, of Lancaster; a niece, Alexis Murphy; several aunts, uncles and cousins; sister-in-law, Jessica Stewart; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Don and Mary Young of Mountain City, Tenn.; fire and EMS brothers and sisters; as well as best friend and co-worker, Jason Gleich.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018 at Southeastern High School, 2003 Lancaster Rd, Chillicothe with Pastor John Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. at the high school on Thursday.
