John Stephen “Steve” Kratzer, 70, of Midland, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 21, 1950 in Mariemont, the son of the late Dale Kratzer and Dorothea (Hibbs) Kratzer of Wilmington.
Mr. Kratzer was a truck driver for many years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his former wife and special friend, Tammy (Bill) Needham of Midland; three children, Brian Kratzer of Midland, Jillyn (Carson) George of Sidney and Misty (Jerry) Bray of Blanchester; eight grandchildren, Chelcia Criss, Taylor “Tater Bug” (Jake) Osborne, Payton “P” Phillips, Jackson Bray, Judson “Squid” Bray, Tharren Kratzer, Rebecca Kratzer and Makenzie “Kenzi” Kratzer; one brother, David Michael “Mike” (Charlotte) Kratzer of Midland; a sister, Andrea (Frank) Tacorante of Blanchester; and a sister-in-law, Susan Kratzer of Bellbrook.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Edward Kratzer.
Graveside funeral services for Steve will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021 at noon at the Westboro Cemetery. Pastor Steve Bell will officiate. There will be no public visitation. The Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg is serving the family.
