John Robert Galliett, 85, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at The Laurels of Blanchester.
He was born March 27, 1936 in Mowrystown, the son of the late Ralph William & Gene Amelia (Amey) Galliett.
A 1954 Buford High School graduate, John was a Vietnam War-era veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the Ford Manufacturing plant in Cincinnati. John was a member of the New Antioch Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Galliett; three sons, Jeffrey (Debbie) Galliett of Mt. Orab, Scott (Dawn) Galliett of Georgia and Sean (Tonya) Neece of Amelia; three stepchildren, Steve (Cathy) Jones, Tom Jones and Rachel (Dean) Dennewitz; sister, Pat DeHaas of Buford; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Allen Galliett; his second wife, Sonya Jones Galliett; and three daughters, Janice Carol Galliett, Nancy Lynn Jewell and Christy Ann Shearer.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the New Antioch Church of Christ, 1101 Antioch Road, Wilmington with Pastor Sid Clay officiating. Interment will follow in the Buford Cemetery in Buford, where the Highland County Honor Guard will accord full military honors.
Friends will be received Monday, June 28 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
