John N. Wagoner, 65, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.
He was born Feb. 15, 1956 in Highland County, the son of the late Harold and Marilyn Bartuff Wagoner.
John married the former Karen S. Wilson on Dec. 23, 1983.
John was a 1974 graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School. If you knew John Wagoner, you always knew where you stood with him, good or bad. John was a well-known general contractor in Greenfield and touched many lives. He was not afraid to tackle any job and worked many long hours. He was a member of the Greenfield Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; one stepson, Eric (Jesse) Rowe of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Tori, Samy (Brendan), Molly and Jaxon; one great-grandson, Luke; his three siblings, Dave (Brig) Wagoner of Hillsboro, Roger (Linda) Wagoner of Greenfield and Barb (Bob) Elkins of Winchester; his sisters-in-law, Kathy (Ray) Swanson of Callahan, Fla., Debbie (John) Burnett and Christina Gobill, both of Ft. Myers, Fla., Carla Wilson of Georgia and Jamie Wilson of Dalton, Ga.; two brothers-in-law; Eddie Wilson of Georgia and Joey Wilson of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for John will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Greenfield First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. Following the service, John will be laid to rest in Greenfield Cemetery. A gathering will be held in the back room of the Eagles following graveside services. Family and friends can visit with his family on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the church.
