Joan Ringer, 75, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021 at her home.
She was born Sept. 18, 1946, the daughter of the late Virgil and Stella Jane (Roberts) Penwell.
Joan had worked for Airborne, ABX Air, PC Connections and J & D Gas Station. She enjoyed going to the Wilmington Savings Bank Senior Citizens Center in Wilmington.
On April 25, 1974, she married Dewey Earnest Ringer, who passed away June 29, 2008.
Surviving are her four children, Nathan V. (Terri) Cooper of Franklin, Robin L. Jackson of Clarksville, Shawn A. (Tracy) Cooper of Clarksville and Melissa K. (Rodney) Willoughby of Blanchester; three stepsons- John W. (Susie) Ringer of Wilmington, Robert E. (Debra) Ringer of Hillsboro and Ronald G. (Mary) Ringer of Wilmington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Nancy) Penwell of Louisiana and Rodger (Rebecca) Penwell of Columbus; sister, Lynnette (Tim) Naylor of Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her grandsons, Kody and Devin; stepson, James Ringer; and brothers, Lawrence, Terry, Dwayne and Buck.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Center Road, Wilmington, with Pastor David Van Hoose officiating. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, has been entrusted with the arrangements
