Jesse Lee Whited

Jesse Lee Whited, 96 of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.  

He was born June 22, 1928 in Norfolk, Va., the son of the late Grace Whited.  

After graduating with the Fairfield High School Class of 1948, Jesse retired from Hobart in Hillsboro after over 20 years of service. He also worked for several farmers in the area. He enjoyed traveling, antiquing and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

He is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Rosemary (Walker) Whited, whom he married on Oct. 1, 1950. He is also survived by two children, Gary (Cindy) Whited of Laurelville and Sherry Thompson of New Vienna; grandchildren, Matt (Amanda) Whited of Circleville, Chad (Sarah) Whited of Galena and Paige Thompson of Lakewood; great-grandchildren Jake, Kinley, Jesse, Sonny, Eli, Logan, Riley and Macie; a brother-in-law, Robert (Margaret) Walker; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Walker and Kathy Walker; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, David Walker and Vernon Walker; and three sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Raymond) Weeks, Rita (Jim) Gorman and Helen (Larry) Brunner.  

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at the Turner Funeral Home in Leesburg, followed by a funeral service. Chaplain Jeff Davis will officiate.
