Jarred Horton Smith, 33, of Baltimore, Ohio passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Westerville.
He was born April 16, 1987 in Lancaster, the son of James W. and Melody Horton Smith of Ft. Pierce, Fla.
Jarred had worked as an emergency medical technician, and after receiving his U.S. Coast Guard Master Mariners License, operated a Dive Boat in Riviera Beach, Fla. and worked with the American Shark Conservancy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Janet Greer of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; one aunt, Kimberly Michael of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; four uncles, Travis (Cathy) Horton of Daytona, Fla., Tim (Ruby) Smith of Millersport, Paul (Cathy) Smith of Baltimore, Ohio and Donald Smith of Reynoldsburg; several cousins, including three special cousins, Judson Michael of Lafayette, La., Trevor Smith of Clarksville and Chad Smith of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a special cousin, Ross Greer.
Services will be held privately for the family and later his cremated remains will be taken to a place that held his fondest memories in Florida.
