Janet M. Minton, 84, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 in Somerset, Ky.

She was born in Hillsboro on April 20, 1930.

She was of the Presbyterian faith and greatly enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds and traveling. She attended the Tennessee Craftsman fair for 30-plus years. She was a self-employed crafts maker and specialized in chimes. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lowell and Doris Lyon Starr; one brother, Edward Starr; and her husband, Robert "Bob" Minton. 

She is survived by one son; Michael Minton of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters; Margaret "Maggi" Minton (Donna Schiavone) of Texas, Carolyn "Shelly" Henson (Bill Rider) and Pamela Hines (Richard) of Kentucky; one stepdaughter; Sharon Hudson (Ernie) of Covington; one sister; Carolyn (Leonard "Bud") Gundler of Blanchester; and four grandchildren, Rebecca Henson, Anna Henson, Josh Hines and Coast Guard Chief Shawn Hines. 

Private services are being conducted. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Pulaski County Public Library.
