Janet Lewis Griffith, 83, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021 at the Drake Center in Cincinnati.
She was born Aug. 15, 1938 in Mowrystown, the daughter of the late Lester Lewis and Mabel Vance Lewis.
Janet was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday school and led the youth group for many years. She worked at and retired from Hobart in Hillsboro after 17 years of service.
Surviving is her husband, Charles Griffith of Hillsboro, whom she married April 7, 1987; son, Rick (Linda) Reno of Chillicothe; three daughters, Donna Robinson of Hillsboro, Debra (Jeff) Swanger of Pennsylvania and Denise (Ray) Osborn of Louisville, Ky.; a stepdaughter, Debra (Patrick) Brice of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bill (Jean) Lewis.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and David Lewis; and a granddaughter, Shannon Surface.
Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Hightop Cemetery at Samantha.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
