James N. Ross, 78, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born Jan. 30, 1939 in Stringtown, the son of the late James David and Nellie Ione Whisler Ross.
Mr. Ross was a lifelong farmer and a member of the Fall Creek Friends Church.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna Ellison Ross, whom he married on March 20, 1965 in Mt. Orab; one daughter, Lori (Randy) Jenkins of Hillsboro; one son, Tim (Christina) Ross of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Kristen (Rob) Satterfield, Curtis (Mandy) Ross, Emmy Lee Jenkins, Wyatt (Annie Pralle) Ross and Madalyn Ross; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Lucy, Allis, McKenzie, Jessie, Bobby and Grace; one sister, Doris Hackney of Hillsboro; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Karen Ellison of Chillicothe, Betty Clouser of Bainbridge, Alice Ross of Hillsboro and Phyllis Ross of Greenfield; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ella Mae Karnes; three brothers, John, Harry and Paul Ross; and one nephew, Darrell Ross.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 7 at the Fall Creek Friends Church. Pastor Scott Latimer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Fall Creek Friends Church.
