James Brannon, 71, of New Vienna, passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021 at the Dayton VA Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 29, 1949 in Wilmington, the son of Albert and Esther Brannon.
James was a United States Army veteran and retired from Air National Guard. He loved to play cards and gaming.
Surviving are his son, James F. (Andrea Bigda) Brannon II of New Vienna; daughter, Jerry Lee (Alan) Cowin of Wilmington; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Jerry Brannon, Esther Ann Spence and Shirleigh Brannon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Faye Brannon, who passed away July 10, 2017; and a sister, Jeannette Brannon.
Memorial services will be held Monday, Aug. 9, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St., Wilmington, with Pastor Dan Mayo officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington, where the Wilmington American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard will accord full military honors. Friends will be received at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 9 from noon - 1 p.m.
