Jack D. Garrison Sr., 74, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021 at the Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, surrounded by his family.
He was born Dec. 1, 1946 in Dayton, the son of the late Herschel “Banny” Garrison and Mary Elizabeth Durbin Garrison.
He worked for D & E Equipment Company in Wilmington for 50 years.
Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married the love of his life, Rita Sholler, on Aug. 13, 1966. They were blessed to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Garrison; children, Teresa (Steve) Hayslip, Julie (Mark) Myers and Jack (Tammy) Garrison; grandchildren, Tyler Hayslip, Megan (Derrick) Beaver, Makala (Justin) Bunner, Elizabeth (Owen Young) Myers, Hunter Myers and Kayla Macke; one great-grandchild, Barrett Walker; sister, Patricia “Patty” Flint; brother, Richard “Dick” Garrison; brothers-in-law, David Jackson, Larry Teboe and John Arnold; sisters-in-law, Dora (Tommy) Sholler, Carol (Mike) Sholler, Sherry (Keith) Sholler, Donna (Larry) Garrison and Elaine (Gary) Garrison; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth “Lizzy” Puckett; grandfather, Cecil Puckett; brothers, Herschel “Herbert” Garrison, Roger Garrison, Larry Garrison, Gary Garrison and William “Billy” Garrison; sisters, Linda Arnold and Peggy Burns; mother-in-law, Virginia “Jenny” Sholler; father-in-law, Joseph “Joe” Sholler; brothers-in-law, Tommy Sholler, Mike Sholler and Keith Sholler; and sisters-in-law, Joann Teboe, Rosemary “Rosie” Jackson, Wanita Harner, Diana Everhart and Lynn Werner.
Jack's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service celebrating Jack's life will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at 1373 Pyle Road in Clarksville.
Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
