Ingeborg Roark, 86, formerly of Leesburg, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Magnolia Springs in Loveland.
She was born Nov. 5, 1934 in Wurzburg, Germany but lived most of her early years in Bad Kissingen, Germany and was the daughter of the late Ernst and Hildegard (Rothaug) Mittman.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles Roark, whom she married May 29, 1954 after a romance kindled in Germany where Charles was in the service. After a separation of 18 months following their engagement, she finally arrived at New York Harbor on May 11, 1954 after an eight-day ride on the S.S. America.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and active in church work, most recently at the Octa House of Prayer. She also taught typing and other subjects at various Christian schools and was also a favorite of many clients for whom she provided home healthcare services for several years.
In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her three daughters, Nancy Holton of Goshen, Cinda Steen of San Diego, Calif. and Charlene (Glenn) Quintana of Duanesburg, N.Y.; one son, Mark Roark of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; twin sister, Rosa Ruth Schick of Stuttgart, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Horst Mittmann.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial service, open to the public, will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery Thursday, March 18 at 3:15 p.m. in Leesburg with Rev. Mark Bales officiating. The Turner Funeral Home in Hillsboro is serving the family.
