Inez Bowers, 98, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at Edgewood Manor of Greenfield.
She was born Nov. 26, 1917 in Hazel Green, Ky., the daughter of James Harrison and Junie Gurtha (Rose) Birchfield.
She was retired from Ferno Washington of Wilmington, was a former employee of Collins Meat Packing in Greenfield, and former owner/operator of Inez’s Beauty Shop in Greenfield.
She is survived by three stepdaughters, Mary Jane Merritt Anderson of Greenfield, Roberta Lambert of Sabina, Rebecca Heckathorn of Leesburg; two stepsons, Lloyd Bowers of Hillsboro and Robert “Bob” Bowers of Wilmington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; friend, Terry (Sheila) Lambert of Leesburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Robert Bowers, on April 16, 1999; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Emery Birchfield; two sisters, Lucille Robbins and Albertis Wilkey; and both parents.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, with Pastor Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardin’s Creek “Bridges” Cemetery of Leesburg.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.
