Henry Craig Robertson, 98, formerly of Peebles, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown. 

He was born June 23, 1925 in Augusta, Ky., the son of the late Allen and Ruth Norris Robertson. 

Henry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a proud recipient of the highest honor awarded to FFA members, the FFA American Farmer Degree. Henry worked for more than 20 years as a milk inspector at Carnation, where on his first day of work he met Betty Copeland who would later become his wife for 60 years. Henry enjoyed all sports; he liked being involved with coaching his children and grandchildren. He was a softball player and devoted UK basketball fan. 

Henry was a member of the Peebles Church of Christ, where he taught Sunday school. In his later years, Henry enjoyed volunteering at the DAV. 

Henry is survived by his sons, Craig (Debbie) Robertson of Peebles, Alan Robertson of Leesburg, Bob (Debbie) Robertson of Washington Court House, and David (Pam) Robertson of Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty C. Robertson; son, Eric Robertson; and sisters, Bette Lachicotte and Jane Roberts. 

Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Friday, May 3 at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ohio Veterans Home at Georgetown, 2003 Veterans Blvd., Georgetown, Ohio 45121.

To Henry’s family, sorry to hear of Henry’s passing. I remember him from the store in the Ridge and later from Hobart. He always treated me well, as he also did others. My condolences to his family.
