Helen L. Williamson

Helen L. Williamson, 87, of Sinking Spring, passed away Dec. 18, 2024.

She was born March 18, 1937, in Dailyville, Pike County, the daughter of the late Cecil and Mary (Gustin) Hopkins.

Helen was known for her vibrant spirit and her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met. She cherished her time with family, particularly her beloved grandchildren, and her warmth created a welcoming atmosphere wherever she went. Her dedication to her work was unparalleled; she spent over 30 years at Wells Toy Manufacturing in New Vienna, where she was not just a diligent worker but a cherished member of the team. Even after her retirement, Helen's commitment to service continued as she worked for 15 more years at Wal-Mart, treating every customer with the same care and friendliness she offered to those closest to her.

A lover of bingo and the lottery, Helen enjoyed life's simple pleasures and brought joy to many through her infectious laughter and gentle heart.

She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Kim (Kevin) Robinson, Vicky Williamson and Connie (Brian) Coogan, as well as her sons, Terry Williamson and Mike Hopkins; and loving grandmother to seven, Elisha (Rob) Morris, Derek Bennington, Justin (Hannah) Faulconer, Miriah (Zach) Carroll, Brandi (Eslie) Terry, Candace (Nick) Wilkins and Brianna McDulin, and 10 great-grandchildren; and a loving sister to Mary Mahaffey, Betty (David) Wise and Trudy (Jim) Hodge, all of whom will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her godson, Nathan McElwee; special dog, Sonny; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Heber L. Williamson on Oct. 16, 2010; brother, Cecil Hopkins Jr.; and three sisters, Esther Hopkins, Verda Bosier and Susan Ison.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024 from 2-5 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, 241 E. Main St., Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.

Helen's life will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. with a funeral service at Sinking Spring Community Church with Pastor Greg Seaman and Pastor Scott Faulconer officiating.
