Helen L. Wells, 95, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Laurels of Blanchester.
She was born March 30, 1921 in Westboro, Ohio, the daughter of the late Miletus Speelman and Bessie Stevens Speelman.
Helen worked as an accountant at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where she retired on July 1, 1976 after 32 years of service. She was a member of Villars Chapel United Methodist Church since 1929 and also attended church at the First Church of God in Wilmington. Helen was a member of the Clinton County Squares and had enjoyed square dancing for many years until just recently when her health prevented her from participating.
She is survived by her brother, Paul Speelman of Wilmington, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Speelman; and two sisters, Margaret Winters and Olive Budrey.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. at the corner of Mulberry St., Wilmington, on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Larry Speelman and Rev. Dennis Speelman officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarksville Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home Wednesday, May 11, 2016, from 6-8 p.m.
