Helen Gayle Scott, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.
She was born Dec. 21, 1946, in Maysville, Ky.
Helen was a vibrant soul who brought joy and laughter wherever she went. Throughout her life, Helen found great pleasure in simple joys, from cheering on the Bengals and Reds to relishing in the nostalgia of old western movies. She was an active member of the community, dedicating her time to the Highland County Senior Citizens and sharing her passion for sports as a skilled softball player for many years.
Helen's adventurous spirit led her to achieve a black belt in karate, showcasing her dedication and determination. Her love for sports and martial arts reflected her tenacity and zest for life.
Helen will forever be remembered for her kindness, strength and unwavering spirit. Though she may have passed, her legacy of resilience and joy will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
Helen is survived by her longtime partner of 37 years, Robert “Bob” Harless; brothers, Ed (Mary) Fife of San Antonio, Texas and Kenny (Kim) Fife of Leesburg; sisters, Jean (Rick) Collins of Wilmington, Elaine (Mike) Barrett of Wilmington and Evelyn (Bob) Wiseman of Hillsboro; special great-nieces, Caitlyn (Ben) Oliver, Adalyn and Isabel, Alicia (Branon) Miracle, Aubrey and Vanessa; several other nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and a host of friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Scott; mother and stepfather, Viola Blake (Russell) Fife; brother, Clarence Taylor Scott; and half-brothers, Russell Fife Jr. and Glen Fife.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
