Geraldine Schmitz, 88, of Blanchester, formerly of the Hillsboro area, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 at University Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was born Dec. 13, 1930 in Norwood, the daughter of the late Edgar and Violet (Allen) Price.
She married John Celestine Schmitz, who passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996.
Geraldine enjoyed being the grill cook at the Dairy Point in Blanchester and serving all of the high school kids. She was active in the Ham radio CBS Action Team in Blanchester and had attended the Goshen Methodist Church with her son, Wayne.
Surviving are her sons, Brian (Sheila) Schmitz of Blanchester, and Wayne (Debbie) Schmitz of Pleasant Plain; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Alex), John (Angie), Justin (Jill), Martha (Dustin), Laytham, Kayleb and Aaron (Erica); great-grandchildren, Alisha, Sadie, Billy, Reese, Savannah, Ryland, Holden and Claire; great-great-grandson, Jacoby; a great-great-grandchild-to be; and step-great-grandchildren, Tasha, Mercedes and Zoey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother and sister.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro, with Pastor Dan Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
