Gerald Lee Burba, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, Jan. 17, 2022 at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 16, 1940, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Harriett E. (Shoemaker) Burba and Paul Burdette Burba.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and he was a member of the Hillsboro Jaycees. He worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company as a lineman, and he also worked for Cincinnati Milacron.
Gerald is survived by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Siegal L. (Brenda) Burba of Springfield, Va. and Daniel (Roseta) Burba of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Jaqueline (Charles) Burns of Hillsboro and Lisa (Brian) Stevenson of Cincinnati; three grandsons, Charles (Tiffany) Burns, Justin (Shelby) Burns and Thomas (Charlotte) Burns; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister-in-law, Terry L. Burba, Richard R. and Janet (Stultz) Burba, and David L. Burba.
A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery, with military rites to be accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Friday from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
