Gerald L. Bowman, 78, of Blanchester, formerly of Owsley County, Ky., passed away Sunday evening, March 5, 2017 at home.
Gerry was born in Earnestville, Ky., the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Creech) Bowman.
On July 27, 1957, he married his best friend, Brenda Ann Waddell Bowman, who passed away June 29, 2013.
He was the co-owner and CEO of Bowman TV for 40 years. He and Brenda were part of the core team who planted the Morrow Church of Christ. He was a member of the Wilmington Church of Christ.
Surviving are his son, Greg (Connie) Bowman of Elgin, Ill. and their children, Courtney (Ed) Burton and Chris (Corrie) Bowman; daughter, Elizabeth (Bill) Kennedy of Clarksville and their children Mackenzie Kennedy and Ben Kennedy; two great-grandchildren, Keira and Landon; his sister, Betty Gabbard and her children, Bill Gabbard, Mike Gabbard, Sue Philpott and their families; two other sons; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Bowman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, with Bruce Stauffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
