Gerald Elmore Roush, 95, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at Highland District Hospital surrounded by his family. 

He was born Aug. 2, 1929 in Hillsboro to the late Arthur “Pete” and Maude (Wilkin) Roush. 

He graduated from Hillsboro High School. Gerald worked at Irwin Auger Bit for 27 ½ years and started farming in 1964 and did both until he retired. He was a member of the Hillsboro FOE Aerie 1161. 

Survivors include his wife, Nola “Tommye” (Bratton) Roush, whom he married Dec. 10, 1949. They just celebrated 75 years of marriage. They have two sons, Philip (Sharon) Roush and Donovan D. (Linda) Roush; four grandchildren, Brad (Julie) Roush, Jobi (Dax) Bennington, Donovan M (Nancy) Roush and Eathan (Tiffany) Roush; six great-grandchildren, Meghan (Peter Giordano) Roush, Madison Roush, Gage Bennington, Gunner Bennington, Hunter Williams and Autumn Williams; 10 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
